Tessellated Tile Borders

A tessellated tile border frames the main pattern and shapes how the floor meets a wall, doorway, step or garden edge. Choose it alongside your tile pattern. Open a border below to view its details.

Choosing a border

Choose the border width before finalising the main pattern. A wide decorative border makes a strong frame, but leaves less space for the pattern on a narrow path. Compare Norwood, Newcastle and Windsor alongside your field pattern and tile colours.

For example, a 1,200mm-wide path with a 120mm border on each side leaves 960mm between the borders. This is a planning illustration, not a tile order: the final set-out must also account for joints, edge details and the actual pattern repeat.

Corners, curves and steps

Show every change of direction on your sketch. Corners, curved edges, verandah posts and steps can require different cuts or finishing pieces.

Measure each edge separately and mark where a border stops at a doorway or continues around a corner. See our curved checkerboard path with a Norwood border for a completed example.

Planning your quote

Send the overall dimensions, individual edge lengths and photos of corners, curves and steps. We can discuss border width and set-out before quantities are finalised. Send your project details for installation in Sydney and Newcastle or tile supply Australia-wide.
